Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium is additional funding from the Department of Education given to schools to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.

At Headlands Primary School, we have high aspirations and ambitions for all our pupils, and we are determined to ensure that all our pupils are given every chance to realise their full potential, including our pupils in receipt of pupil premium funding. Pupil Premium funding represents 7.1% of our overall budget, and we are committed to providing personalised targeted support to ensure that it is spent to maximum effect for identified pupils.

Pupil Premium funding is available for pupils who:-

  • are recorded as eligible for free school meals, or have been recorded as eligible in the past 6 years (referred to as Ever 6 FSM)
  • have been previously looked after by a local authority or other state care, including children adopted from state care or equivalent from outside England and Wales

At Headlands Primary School a £100 bursary is made available every year to each of our eligible pupils which can be used to help towards the cost of school uniform, music lessons and school clubs.  Eligible pupils are also entitled to a 50% reduction on the cost of school trips as well as having access to holiday activity vouchers through the West Northamptonshire Council (for more information see here).

If you think you may be eligible for free school meals please click the link below or speak to the school office.
