At Headlands Primary School we take pride in our appearance and expect all pupils to follow the dress code. Our uniform is as follows:-
- Girls - gold polo shirt with school logo and royal blue school v neck sweatshirt or cardigan with logo, grey trousers, skirt or pinafore dress, grey tights and sensible low heeled black shoes.
- Boys - gold polo shirt with school logo and royal blue school v neck sweatshirt with logo, grey trousers and black shoes.
In the summer girls have the option to wear a blue and white gingham summer dress and sensible sandals and the boys have the option to wear grey shorts instead of trousers.
School sweatshirts, cardigans and fleeces with the school logo on are available to purchase from the School Wear Shop.
Please note: Jelly shoes, boots and trainers (other than for PE) are not allowed to be worn during the school day.
Hair accessories should be minimal and preferably in school colours. Hair should be kept out of children's eyes using headbands, clips and slides; again preferably using school colours. If your child has shoulder length hair, for health and safety reasons, we request that it is tied back in a ponytail. If you wish your child to wear a headscarf for religious reasons, then this item must be royal or navy blue. Headscarves must not have any embellishments, such as diamante decoration.
Blue shorts and a coloured t-shirt to represent the house your child is in:-
- Green – Cedar
- Red – Cherry
- Blue – Birch
- Yellow – Oak
Plimsolls or trainers (for outdoor games). In winter, plain black or grey tracksuit trousers and sweatshirt are also recommended.
Swimming is a crucial life skill which is why it is compulsory in the national curriculum for primary-age pupils. It is therefore extremely important that children arrive at school with their swimming kit. Please note that the correct kit is as follows:-
Boys - Lycra swimming trunks (shorts are not permitted) and swimming hat
Girls - One piece costume and swimming hat
Swimming hats are issued when your child starts school. Should you need a replacement hat these can be purchased via your class teacher for 50p. Jewellery is not permitted.
Jewellery is not expected to be worn although watches are permitted. If your child has pierced ears, then one pair of studs is acceptable. We expect that if children have their ears pierced, then this should be done at the start of the summer holidays so that they can be removed independently by the child when they return to school. All jewellery must be removed before any PE lessons.
Children are not permitted to wear any type of makeup including nail varnish.
On admission to the school your child will be issued with a school book bag. This is for carrying your child’s reading book and any communication between school and home. Should you misplace the book bag then replacements can be purchased from:-
